this upcoming week i have a sale, a moe poster, stickerpacks with Kolcuts: RADIATION BURNS, some crazy wood one-offs that i’ve been making for fun. just a very varied assortment of stuff, something for everyone. or at least somethings for some people.
technically its a presale, since my stickers are printing currently and aren’t in hand, but some of this stuff can ship now, so it’ll just be a matter of what people order. anywho, just a heads up, if you’re on my mailing list you’re get the note. til then
- black water abyss. got bad reviews but i enjoyed it. i like killer croc movies.
- this hbo making of feature is pretty cool.
- these Bill Sienkiewicz panels are awesome. the time Mœbius and Hayao Miyazaki chatted.
- the life of matt reid. i remember these covers.
- cold steel. man, serious business!

greetings pandemiconians, we are using your brain’s electrical system as a receiver. strange things are afoot at the circle t…stout. on that note, i have a sale coming up (i know i know). the big question is, to presale or not presale. i like having things in hand to ship, like stickers. but doing a presale, hey, you get the assurance of ownership while i get the funds to pay for printing. a real catch 42.
regardless, some sticker packs, some laser cuts, some wood cuts, heck even a movie poster assuming we get this sucker approved. as always, i appreciate your patience. til then:
- any phishheads know which of these colorways was actually sold on 12/30/09? this question is for charlie.
- also, i recently left dropbox and joined a new cloud storage option, pcloud. lousy name but great reviews. anywho, if i recommend people and they sign up, i get extra gigs of storage myself. as do you. that’s what we call win win. SO, if you were going to try it out anyways, use this link and i’ll get free storage for all of my super critical files like this.
- look at this kid. i tell ya, kids. skateboards. mtv. pizza pockets.
- lynch vs lucas / hitchcock vs spielberg / wolverine doc / willows legacy
- tunes: reckless / jimmy ruffin / daltrey vs daltrey / restless (RUNNING MAN)
captains log 0206
avast ye lubbers, what a month. what a week. what a day. new poster for the band moe coming out, should be fun. gathering things together for a release. if its worth doing once, its worth doing right. that’s someone’s motto. not mine, but i’m sure someone’s.
til then, let the links rain down like rain
- BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ALEX ROSS. amazing work alex. HOW DOES HE DO IT? now i know.
- rewatching CLIFFHANGER recently and though, obviously, how has that SNES aged? great, turns out.
- ADAM REPOSA. ha ha. lawyers. so much fun.
- SPUTNIK. well shoot that looks like it could be fun.
- look at this FOXy thing. weird looking.
- 70’s MARVEL, yowsa. i like what i like.
- SCIENTISTS NEVER STOP DISCOVERING. amazing. a spider? what will they think of next?
and with that, kazoooooo.
captains log 0205
well shoot, almost halfway through summer. or maybe more than halfway. gotta say, strange things afoot at the circle USA these days. hope everyone is doing ok. i’m going to presell some packs pretty soon, just to raise funds for some printing costs, so watch for that. but no hidden sales in this post, just a chance to link some tunes, enjoy the sounds of yesteryear.
some oldies that i’ve linked a few times before, but hey, music is the soundtrack of our lives.
- genghis khan / blockhead / breezeblocks / panda bear
- el p’s rejected blade runner score
- ye olde whyte strypes
- good on ya jason.
- so, black midis. i did not know about this until recently. BRHAPSODY / EGRIEG / GBUSTERS / WINDOWS
- and of course, things always get weirder. FLOPPOTRON QUEEN. MARIO CHARGE.
- the true cost of illegal downloading. Classic muggles.
- instead of quarantine, we could all be doing this. no. no. no thank you.
- handmade Alien. great.
- and this trailer for Peninsula / train to busan sequel looks amazing.
also, been meaning to post this but i am a lazy somnambulist, a fundraisers for Robbie Trevino, amazing artist.
captains log 0204
well shoot, things settling down yet? or getting worse? bit of column A, bit of column B. we’ve lost some greats, both in the world, in our neighborhoods, in our households. time marches on, but man, its been a rough one.
STILL, i do have a sale coming up, how to handle it with the appropriate tstout finesse is always the trick. if you’re on my mailing list, you’ll get the word. otherwise, keep watching the mines.
- speaking of the worldwide pandemic, this was something.
- friendly reminder that bladerunner has come to pass at last.
- and a nice summary of 2020 so far
- enter the world of david lynch. amazing man.
plus i’ll have some sort of tstout.com/secretpassword for a few of these cutouts at some point, for those that missed out. not the main sale, just a ‘hey, fun thing’ for a few people. but it’ll require using the ol mellon i would imagine. edit: people cracked the case. but hopefully legit sale coming…eventually?
edit: also, if people have framed these cutout KolCuts™, i’d love to see a picture. might make a little online gallery of framing jobs, kinda neat.
captains log 0203
greetings earthlings, just a wrap up on this auction i had recently, many thanks to KS for their generous bid, far too much. the proceeds have been donated and this is the receipt of said transaction. and it hasn't been photoshop’d. which is probably something you would say if you did photoshop it but i assure you i did not photoshop it. i mean, i did crop it in photoshop, it was an email sarah sent me. so in that sense, it was photoshop’d but not in a dishonest way. now this entire post seems incredibly suspicious. great.
in other news, if you’re on my mailing list, you’ll get a note when i’ll have these KOLCUTS™ / RADIATION BURNS™ for sale. and i’ll have plenty, so don’t despair. not plenty of any specific one, but plenty to choose from, so it’ll be fine.
otherwise, i am passing along these important links critical to getting through the current state of the world.
- should we have a national food shortage, this guide is critical to humanities survival.
- hunting for sustenance? these will help you track your prey.
- a ‘how to’ guide that i found both intriguing and informative, should things get very dire.
- signs that actually predicted these end times, and we missed them.
- in the future, will humans remain at the top of the food chain? possibly not.
in all seriousness….do i need to come out against racism and inequality? hopefully no one thinks that little of me. tstout goals - be kind, love fellow humans, treat everyone as i’d like to be treated. you’ve all been very kind to me, and i appreciate the moments we’ve shared. here’s to brighter days tomorrow.
captains log 0202
just an update on this charity auction, 10 hours to go. clearly we’re not experienced ebay users, an auction ending at 1:15 AM PST is not really prime time, but hey, live and learn. regardless, still time to bid, 100% of the proceeds go to our community’s YMCA, which - after closing its doors the past 3 months - has seen better days.
just to dangle an additional bone out there - the winning bidder can also choose a free handbill from all the other cuts i’ve done so far, OR (and this gets tricky) - request a specific portrait. nothing super crazy, and certain things (the cloverfield monster for instance), i might just have a heck of a time drawing. but hey, i’ll try to draw anything that the winner asks me to do. if its super good, i’ll add it to the next line of cuts. if its more of an aquired taste (billy zane from titanic for instance), it might be an edition of 1.
so, that’s it, thanks again!
captains log 0201
greetings survivors - hope everyone is doing good. just a few rumblings from the lab. first off, i have a (gasp) thing for sale on ebay. or rather, sarah does. started an ebay account for it and everything. thought it’d be fun to do a radioactive burn cutout in response to all the stuff going on. or i was bored, either/or. but 100% of the funds go to my community YMCA, of which we are a part of. i’m a big fan of investing in my community, big fan of non profit outreach centers that make the world a better place. and spending time there, seeing people from all walks of life, its kinda what i think heaven is like. not in a weird way, i assume there won’t be work out equipment in the afterlife. but just people caring about people. neat stuff. ANYWHO, feel free to bid or not bid, won’t hurt my feelings, framed it myself, two panes of plexiglass and some pallet wood, pretty pleased with it. there’s a reason i am not building houses. ships framed, but easy to unscrew if you want to take it out, throw up a very fine lined stencil, then frame it back up.
also, we’ll have some more stencils for sale, coming up. available to all. other than those that already purchased one. 1 per person. while supplies last.
otherwise (man this is a long post), some other interesting links.
- hey, an interview, with me. tried for as low of quality video of me as possible, ideally it’d be just two pixels blinking, but great job by Anthony Krysiewicz, sharp as a tack, hilarious and all around good dude.
- a nice video of how this year is going so far.
- cool video that speaks to the talent of foley artists everywhere
- lastly, my family comes from norway. this is crazy.
captains log 0200
200 logs later. amazing. we did it. so, final update from that last sale, i believe the last of the orders from this are going out. a bit about these items….i had a lot of fun learning this new process. i think they turned out cool. they started out pretty simple, then i probably went a bit overboard and here we are, the birth of Radiation Burns™, Quarantine Edition (ok i’m still working on the name).
let me know which ones are seen out in the wild and i can start to build a gallery on my site. otherwise i should be done with all orders. let me know if yours hasn’t arrived.
next up, try to get a movie poster approved. no problem.
til then -
- Star Wars Prequels - Guardians of the Galaxy Edition
- Star Wars Prequels - Nice Guys Edition
- Linda Ronstadt - Willin’. and you show me a sign.
- i don’t use reddit much because i am old and technology confuses me but my buddy twilson sent me these and they’re all gold.
MOST POPULAR TV SHOWS. BLAIR INFECTION. CONAN.

shirts and a haircut - two bits. i have some older shirts that are gathering dust - literally, that i figured hey, time to clear up space. i know a lot of sizes missing, these would be referred to as ‘the dregs of society’ in shirttown. but they’ve never been worn, came to me good as new and now here we are. some years later. pick one up and use it as a fancy dish towel. one of those masks i’ve heard people talking about, perhaps? so many options. take note of the GHIBLI sizes / colors. i got a bit tired of listing every colorway as its own item so i grouped those all up under one item. Dark Grey, Light Heather Grey, etc.
other than that, those of you that ordered those $1 items, i appreciate your patience. i’m 99% there. just had to order some more paper and boom, off to the races. i think you’ll be happy. refunds are always available. anywho, will update once they ship. otherwise, enjoy the end of the world.
also, favorite movie monster? leave a note in the comments, i need ideas.
captains log 0198
greetings. supposedly everything has shipped. things should arrive. you should get emailed tracking. thats the way it used to work BEFORE THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED. it drives me crazy to find out someone never got something, people expecting something that never arrived. so, please email us for info about anything. if i said was going to send you a sticker, drop us a reminder. package arrived damaged? email us.
hopefully this week the $1 items will begin to ship. i believe they will be worth a dollar. we shall see. also, i’ll have a few shirts for sale, leftovers from the shipping. plus some older shirts i need to move to clear up space. nothing good, just extra stuff. let my junk become your junk!
til then:
- adam savage / kill bill frame up. heyooooooooooooooo. thats pretty cool.
- movie props, how do they work?
- blood quantum. seen. enjoyed. one of the few good zombie films of late.
- the thing discussion, original vs carpenter. i don’t agree with his opinion, but i enjoyed his discussion.
captains log 0197: shipper update
so, shipping update: sarah says everything but the shirt orders should be shipped by friday. if you don’t have tracking after that, please let us know. shipping the shirts soon after, so hopefully this time next week everything has arrived to its designated destination. I honestly don’t mind people emailing about order status, its my job, gotta keep sarah accountable. never ripped anyone off YET in…20 years of poster selling? can’t be that long. i’m not that old. don’t feel a day over 65.
ALSO - couple purchase notes: if you purchased this option on my shirt sale, you’ll be getting something else.
if you purchased this little feller for a dollar, i’m still constructigating these. obviously its what we call a LOSS LEADER, but have to make it something more than just a sticker and a smile. i think it’ll be worth the wait. lets just say i bought a large piece of machinery to help construct these. or cut me in half. win win as they say.
lastly, pretty happy with how these prints turned out, shout out to broken press, this welcome home version might be my favorite printed version. mostly since i’ve learned a few tiny things in the 15 years since i made it. hope you that picked up a copy are pleased as well.
ok, til next time -
- powerloaders, unite. kinda. ghoul friend. spooky.
- occasionally (ie all the time) i get sucked into those clickfarm articles. and this one was kinda a nice ‘if i was rich and traveled’ bucket list.
- speaking of clickfarms, this list is a hot mess. holy smokes. i mean, seriously. HOW ARE THESE RANKED? what is their criteria??? completely head scratchingly insane.
- speaking of hot messes, this list is a big HUH. i’ve seen many of these and some are great. some are not. saw the lodge recently. NOT GREAT. people go crazy all the time. spoiler alert. as a faithful reader of Elle magazine, you’ve really let your audience down.
- speaking of yo joe, sad to hear that Hector Garrido passed away. incredible artist. dream maker. empire builder.
- speaking of gi joes. obviously…as always…drop me a note if you have some joe lots gathering dust in your residence. always interested in talking trades. can’t make it happen every time (‘i have a slightly yellowed 1992 Headman with loose knees and a cracked elbow joint that i’d like to trade for a METAL KILL BILL’), but still, no harm in asking. always looking to tighten up my collection. these are my actual missing figures, but i sometimes take duplicates too.
captains log 0196
well shoot, is this dream sequence still happening? are we really in quarantine or is this just a bug in the simulation? its like groundhog day only i don’t feel like i’m getting smarter, just more fat. weird how all my clothes don’t fit me now. sarah keeps shrinking them i guess.
so, update update updates. sarah is shipping this week, starting with older prints ordered, new prints have arrived, courtesy of brokenpress, amazing as always. shirts are almost here, those will ship next week. IF there are financial worries on your end, please don’t hesitate about asking for a refund, doesn’t hurt my feelings, totally understand. if you’d rather not go into it, just email me the codeword - ‘Blue Monday.’ we’ll get it taken care of, no worries, no questions.
also, we mentioned we were going to donate part of the proceeds from the sale to two charity groups. since we don’t know what our end shipping costs / printing costs are yet, we took a guess and did $2500 to each group and will make up the difference to each group after all is said and done, if we underestimated. so here are those receipts, No Kid Hungry / Open House Ministry. just doing my due diligence / transparency dawg. thanks again for everyone that contributed, you are the true givers. i merely benefit from the tax write off.
lastly, i have some links, some good, some bad. you decide.
- free games you say? some classics. doom of course. some duke nukem. etc
- how countries fight. i’m so glad all this fighting is behind us.
- interview with john workman, master letterer
- i was sad to hear about adam schlesinger. they did some amazing stuff.
- i enjoyed this blue monday video. makes me less blue. as did this owl city song.
- lastly, my sister wrote an article about her ongoing life in hong kong. she’s holding up, one day at a time.
double edit: thanks for all the kind folks to contact me, i think i got this nintendo business taken care of. OLD NEWS: i’ve been meaning to ask, anyone have a nintendo DS Lite they’re looking to trade? my son has been asking and i’ve been trolling the ebay, haven’t found the right one yet. if you got one gathering dust, lemme know. or gijoes of course, ha.
captains log 0195
so, last weeks sale has wrapped up, thanks again for all your orders. also, as mentioned in the previous blog post, i was curious which version of welcome home people preferred, and the results are in. or if that doesn’t work. so i guess it will be 18x24”. in the interest of giving people a way out, if you would prefer a refund, just drop us an email with the codeword ‘birthday boy’ and no questions will be asked, we’ll refund your order of this specific welcome home print only, no hard feelings. we can also always refund anything else if you need us to, i just figured giving people an easy way to get a refund on this particular print might be helpful.
otherwise, the printing process begins on art prints and tshirts alike. stickerpacks will be shipping this week, as will stand alone older poster orders. please let us know if you encounter any weirdness with the usps. should you desire us to hold onto your package until the quarantine passes, we can do that too.
anywho, til next time -
- take on me. yowsa.
- the story behind onward. which i was surprised by how much i enjoyed.
- its real vader. real chewy.
- sum up the year so far.
- oldie but a goodie. zombie driving.
captains log 0194
first, just a reminder, i still have my timed edition art print and tshirts preselling til tomorrow night.
also, quick question for all of you out there. obviously i should have gotten my life together before yesterday but alas, that is not the case. while getting my Welcome Home III: 5000 Miles of Social Distance Edition ready to print, and I noticed something.
In my original drawings, this piece had more artwork on both sides, designed for an 18x24” print. for some reason, i decided, way back when, to make it 16x24” instead probably because i didn’t care about making things easy to frame. i was a rebel. an loner. Thus Welcome Home I: The Phantom Moonace Edition was 16x24”.
CUT TO a few years later, when we decided to make Welcome Home 2: Brushfire Boogalo Edition - dusted off the poster files, and for some heaven help us reason, i decided to make it 17x25”. what on God’s Green Earth was i thinking? i cannot imagine. but there it is.
so, cut to present day, i am at a crossroads (which is appropriate considering tomorrow is easter). do i make the poster the original 16x24” size? do i outdo W2’s weird size and make it 19x30? or do we embrace the original intent and go with 18x24”, give everyone a little more artwork, make it a bit more accessible for framing?
that’s where you (the viewer, all two of you come in. i put together a survey (or at least tried to, who knows if it works), if you have a moment to fill it out, give me some of your insights, i’d appreciate it. won’t take much to sway me either way, i would prefer to go with the 18x24” version since it looks cool to me, but hey, maybe people are super into 16x24”. either way, i appreciate any input i can get. here’s a zoom view just to embiggen these bad boys.
captains log 0193 - The Great Non-Essential Sale
update edit: well shoot, thanks for all the support, all the sales, these two last items (the shirts and this art print) will continue their timed edition trajectories until sunday evening. no more old poster drops on the ol big cartel, rest ye weary heads. i really, truly, honestly appreciate everyone’s order, i know it can’t be easy in these times. hopefully they bring joy to you. and hopefully we get some new cool stuff coming out down the road. til then my friends, smoke ‘em if you got em.
———————————————-
so, i have some stuff for sale. if you’re interested in picking something up, head here to check it out. two of these are timed editions, the shirts and this art print. the edition will be open for the next 3 days, closing Sunday evening, 9PM PST. i’ll also be throwing up a few older prints as the sale goes on. TO SPICE THINGS UP. but nothing good, rest assured, only bad stuff.
25% of the proceeds from todays sales will be split between two charities, no kid hungry and open house ministries. both working towards helping people in this crisis. why not 100%? well i was told i should probably support my family as well, lost a few jobs in this pandemic mess.
so, if you’ve got some time on your hands, feel free to check it out. if you’re super busy, i understand. just a heads up, due to the genetic makeup of shirts, they ship separately, so they’re sold separately. but you can order multiple shirts. just have to buy them here. apologies.
captains log 0192
so, just a heads up that i have a few things coming out this week. another art print in my 114 edition series, some timed shirt releases and a new colorway of my welcome home print, been awhile and heck, i still like it. 25% of this sale will go towards a couple charities we’re supporting right now. plus stickers, plenty of stickers. realistically, it feels weird to sell stuff at a time like this but i’m like gwen dimarco on Galaxy Quest, i got one job.
so, if you’re on my mailing list you’ll get the word. we’ll also have a grip of older prints, some for big bucks and some for pennies on dollar. well, dollars on the dollar, more like.
please don’t feel pressured to purchase, i know we’re all going through a bit of a moment here, but hopefully at the very least, i can entertain you for a few minutes. as i fall down a flight of stairs and burst into flames.
EDIT: also, footnote, last sale i had a scratch and dent sale and included a damaged kill bill with one of the orders. i didn’t keep track of who it went to, and my buddy Ryan doubts i actually sent it out (kidding). but if you were the person to get that, could you drop me a note? or make a comment? appreciate it.
captains log 0191
well, what a week, what a month, what a year so far. excitement abounds. had the pleasure of doing a video conference talk for my friend dan’s class at cornish coa - hopefully not to boring. also, today is my official last day of being in the portland air national guard - a redhawk no more. truly a pleasure working with the guys from the 142nd fighter wing. can finally let my beard grow out. gonna miss that health insurance though. luckily no reason i would get sick anytime soon. right? right?
this whole global pandemic issue has moved a few things around in my schedule. we had a screening coming up at the roxy in california, with a poster. unfortunately, its been put on hold. life. also a few other things have moved around, concert poster wise.
so, i guess i’ll have a sale soon of some older stuff, some other stuff, some fun stuff. i totally understand if people are being a bit cautious with their finances, i have zero expectations of things selling, but hey, i wouldn’t be doing my job if i didn’t at least tempt you with some non-essential pieces of paper for your storage files. or walls! either way, be safe, be healthy, be well. if i can do anything personally to lift your spirits in these unusual times, reach out. i believe it will get better.
til then, i have a few super important links to share. these are critical.

appreciate all the auction bids, we raised $1650 for the wilson family. special thanks go out to jim, the high bidder, who went above and beyond by matching his own bid with another donation to the family. what a legend, i was blown away. the family’s gofundme is ongoing and it can be found here.
i’m determined not to add to the national dialogue about current events, i will say i’m looking forward to catching the fever. SEA FEVER. perfect timing on that title, for sure. but it looks like 2020 is the year for underwater horror. sounds good. til then…
- currently watching devs. enjoying it. amazing use of this song by LOW.
- master penmahn. ma pens. ma nibs.

- nice article about portland’s hollywood theater. i’ve been there.

final update: so, looks like the final total is $1651, thanks to JM. too many generous folks out there, for sure. appreciate all the bids and emails, hopefully it can make a difference in the lives of this family, just letting em know people care.
if you have a moment, you can still donate here to their gofundme.
——————————————————————-
hi all. hopefully new stuff lies on the horizon. til then, if you’re interested in bidding on a Star Wars New Hope Gold Variant, please read below.
the day before yesterday, there was a car accident less than a mile from my house. this auction is the raise funds for the family affected, people from my community. i’m offering up a star wars variant from my personal collection, i don’t have twenty for sale, just this one. please email me your high bid, and i’ll be updating this post periodically. feel free to bid again if you’re outbid. i’ll close the auction tuesday evening, 11:59 PST. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the family, i’ll cover shipping as well, so if the high bid is $200, then $200 will go towards their gofundme. if the bidding goes over $500, i’ll throw in a total recall regular to sweeten the deal.
if you already have one of these, appreciate any help getting the word out. thanks.
