unrelated, i was sorry to hear about the passing of scott wampler. scott was a good guy. i can’t count the amount of emails i have from him saying ‘dude check out Green Room!’ or ‘check out this James Jean Akira print!’ - going through our emails, i found one from 2012 where i compared myself to arnie cunningham from christine. a few months ago (in 2024) he emailed saying his podcast was interviewing Keith Gordon and asked if i had any questions for keith. just that type of thoughtfulness, remembering something 12 years later after an offhand remark by me. i’ll miss his encouragements, his excitement, just leaves a wampler shaped hole in my chest cavity, knowing he’s gone. don’t know what else to say but man, wish i had told him i loved him, he was a good guy. check out one of the many write ups - here or here or here. many of his articles can be found here. to his family, friends and coworkers, i am very sorry for your loss. many many moons ago he asked me to draw him a creature head for unknown purposes, and then he sent this. still brings a smile to my face. goodbye old friend.
